The morning started out with mixed clouds & sun with a chance of rain. The clouds have mostly burned off & it's pleasant outside in the shade. I mixed up a smoothie & got a few nuts...grabbed my book & came out to sit.

I finally decided the silver roots weren't working for me so I did my hair this morning. I'd been toying with the idea of growing them out but for now I'll stay with my more caramel colored blond.

The Cosmos seeds I planted a few days ago appear to have sprouted, already. The golden ones I have always selfseed & grown new plants all season so I was confident I could get new flowers before Summer ends. The deer were in the gardens last night & munched on the Impatiens & a couple of hostas 😯 They also ate the buds off of a couple of geraniums. Because I have trouble attaining as much color as I'd like due to shady conditions, I'm quite irritated with them. I went out after midnight last night to give everything a spritz of repellant when Hubby spotted them bedding down in the woods. The heavy rains we've had are making it difficult to stay ahead of them.

I saw this morning there was an earthquake last night. I remember waking up a bit in the night because the glass shades on our bedroom lamps were rattling. I didn't wake up enough to pay much attention. I was awake quite late reading, so I guess I was too tired to pay it much notice.

We've been invited to a surprise birthday gathering for a friend's 70th tomorrow. We have agreed to put in an appearance to wish him Happy Birthday, but told the Host we will assess the situation & decide how long we'll stay. I'm not sure how difficult it may be to stay distanced from our friends. 🙁

I'm thinking of using leftover hamburger patties & creating a cheese burger salad for dinner. I'm a little bored with my choices....I have chicken, salmon & pork chops in the freezer....not a lot of creative ideas today. I think I'm ready for a meal out....something I don't have to cook.
